The operator of two Melbourne based IT companies is facing prosecution by the Fair Work Ombudsman over allegations of underpayments to two foreign workers of more than $17,000.

The Federal Magistrates Court has imposed a penalty of $9,000 against the former manager of a Sydney based car wash which underpaid more than 60 foreign workrs almost $100,000.

The Fair Work Ombudsman had initially launched legal proceedings agains the operators of the car wash however the action was unable to be continued after the company went into voluntary liquidation. Click here to read more
